Islamabad: A local court has upheld the arrest warrants for Ali Amin Gandapur in a case involving the illegal possession of arms and liquor.
During the hearing at the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad, Judge Mubashir Hassan Chishti expressed dissatisfaction over the failure to execute the arrest warrants, criticizing the defense lawyer for repeatedly requesting adjournments without presenting the accused.
The judge stated, “You keep requesting exceptions at every hearing, while failing to present the defendant. This only wastes the court’s valuable time.” Despite multiple arrest warrants being issued for Gandapur, the court has not yet received a compliance report.
In response, the defense counsel requested a ruling on a pending acquittal petition before proceeding further. However, the judge dismissed the request and rejected the plea for exemption from attendance.
The court reaffirmed the arrest warrants and directed Ali Amin Gandapur to appear in court by January 29.
