Islamabad: The crackdown on electricity theft has resulted in the recovery of PKR 142.99 billion and 40 million since the campaign began in September 2023.
According to the latest reports, over 114,288 electricity thieves have been arrested, with more than PKR 94.9 crore collected from them in the past week alone. Additionally, 141 electricity thieves were apprehended across the country during the last week.
Authorities have expressed their commitment to continuing the operation until electricity theft is eradicated entirely. The campaign is seen as crucial for the economic recovery of the country and for alleviating the ongoing electricity crisis, with the government’s efforts beginning to show positive results.
