The prices of petroleum products are expected to increase once again from February 1, according to media reports.
Sources indicate that diesel prices may rise by Rs. 6 per liter, while petrol prices could see an increase of Rs. 3 per liter.
It is worth noting that the government has already increased petroleum prices twice in the first month of the new year.
On January 1, petrol prices were raised by Rs. 3.47 per liter for the period of January 1 to January 15, 2025. Another hike of 56 paisa per liter was implemented for January 16 to January 31.
Similarly, diesel prices saw an increase of Rs. 2.96 per liter in the first half of January, followed by an additional Rs. 2.61 per liter in the latter half of the month.
