announcement of introducing the digital payment system ‘Google Wallet’ in Pakistan.

Google has announced the launch of its digital payment system, Google Wallet, in Pakistan and 16 other countries.

According to the company, Google Wallet services will roll out in Pakistan, Egypt, Venezuela, Tajikistan, Morocco, Panama, Peru, Monaco, Kosovo, and other countries between December 2024 and January 2025.

In Pakistan, the service is set to launch in January next year, offering Pakistanis the gift of a digital payment system as they usher in the new year.

Google Wallet is a system designed for digital payments and secure document storage. It enables users to link their credit and debit cards to their accounts for seamless payment and fund transfers.

The system and application are considered highly secure. The company claims that the information stored in Google Wallet is encrypted, making it inaccessible to unauthorized individuals. Essentially, it functions as a digital wallet where users can securely store various cards and documents.

Payments made via Google Wallet are encrypted, and each transaction is processed with a unique code, ensuring security during wallet usage and payment processing.

Users can store bank cards, boarding passes, tickets, and other digital passes in their Google Wallet, similar to a physical wallet. The app employs encryption and device security features to safeguard stored data.

The company also mentioned that even if someone gains access to this data, it would be useless, as it does not contain actual debit or credit card details.

It is noteworthy that Google Wallet is already available in dozens of countries. However, its services were not previously accessible in Pakistan. With this new announcement, the service will now be extended to Pakistan, Egypt, and several other nations.
