A senior Amazon employee has made a shocking confession on the online platform Blind, revealing that he’s been receiving a $370,000 salary without performing any significant work for over a year and a half.
The employee, a Senior Technical Program Manager, admitted to joining Amazon with the intention of doing minimal work and getting “free money.” He claimed to have resolved only seven tickets and created an automated chatbot, which he developed with the help of ChatGPT in just three days.
His day-to-day tasks consist of attending meetings and shifting workload onto other teams. Despite his relaxed performance, he hasn’t received a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), leaving him wondering how long he’ll last at the company.
