Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, has accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of providing misleading information to foreign media, labeling his allegations as baseless and divisive.
Speaking to the media, Tarar emphasized the importance of exposing the truth behind Gandapur’s statements to keep the public informed. “Ali Amin Gandapur’s conduct has always been marked by provocation, threats, and baseless accusations,” he said.
Recalling past incidents, Tarar pointed to the 2014 attack on Pakistan Television (PTV) by Gandapur, accusing him of inciting violence against law enforcement agencies and abandoning his workers at the scene. He also criticized Gandapur’s recent remarks about upcoming protests, highlighting his history of non-peaceful demonstrations and the use of fake narratives and doctored images on social media to mislead the public.
The minister further alleged that Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, played a role in inciting workers during protests. However, both Gandapur and Bushra Bibi reportedly left workers behind during the sit-in at D-Chowk.
Tarar reminded the nation of the events of May 9, stating that those responsible for the violence on that day would be held accountable. He also condemned PTI workers for engaging in anti-establishment propaganda on social media, accusing them of tarnishing the reputation of state institutions.
In his recent interaction with foreign media, Gandapur pledged unwavering loyalty to PTI Chairman Imran Khan, stating he would support every decision, including civil disobedience. Tarar dismissed these remarks as an attempt to sow unrest, reiterating the government’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring accountability for actions undermining national stability
