ISLAMABAD (The COW News Digital) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has thrown down the gauntlet to his political opponents, daring them to topple his government through democratic and constitutional means.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad Sessions Court, where he appeared in connection with an ongoing case, Gandapur asserted that he remains firmly aligned with PTI founder Imran Khan. “We are with Imran Khan and will remain with him. On August 5, people across the country will take to the streets in protest. Our leader will be freed,” he declared.

The case in question involves alleged recovery of illegal weapons and alcohol, a charge Gandapur vehemently denies. He surrendered voluntarily before the court, leading to the cancellation of his arrest warrant. “We are not afraid of false cases. These are baseless and politically motivated. I have always respected the law and presented myself before the courts,” he said.

Gandapur clarified that the case against him dates back to 2016 and holds no merit. “I wasn’t even present at the scene. The vehicle in question wasn’t mine, and yet arms and bottles were planted to frame me,” he added, calling the charges an attempt to silence him politically.

The KP chief minister also hit out at the federal government, claiming it lacks the capacity to dismantle the PTI-led administration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “I challenge them again and again—bring down our government through lawful political means if you can. They don’t have the strength or public support,” he stated.

He emphasized that the current KP government is a trust given by Imran Khan and vowed to defend it with full force. “Our fight is for truth, and we will win it. I will lead the protest in my province on August 5,” he said.

In response to Gandapur’s statements, federal leaders have criticized his tone but acknowledged that his political posture remains influential in KP.

As political tensions build ahead of expected nationwide protests, Gandapur’s defiant stance signals growing resistance from PTI’s provincial leadership, setting the stage for further confrontations with the central authorities.
