According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), top military leadership including Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza (Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee), Admiral Naveed Ashraf (Chief of Naval Staff), and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu (Chief of Air Staff) collectively hailed Major Bhatti’s heroism as a shining example of courage, faith, resolve, and national loyalty.
During the 1965 Indo-Pak war, Major Aziz Bhatti courageously defended the Burki Sector near Lahore, forming an unbreakable wall against relentless enemy assaults for five continuous days and nights. His leadership and exceptional valor inspired his troops to hold their ground against overwhelming odds.
ISPR’s statement highlighted that under his command, the brave defense thwarted enemy advances and played a decisive role in protecting Pakistan’s territory, cementing his place as a symbol of patriotism and military excellence in Pakistan’s history.
