Amid rising military tensions between Pakistan and India, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has temporarily suspended all domestic and international air operations, resulting in the closure of airspace around major airports, including Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot.

According to CAA officials, flight operations at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport were officially halted earlier this morning due to national security concerns. Authorities cited the volatile security situation as the primary reason for the suspension.

Several incoming international flights were diverted mid-air. A Dubai-to-Lahore flight was redirected to Karachi, and a PIA flight from Medina bound for Lahore was also rerouted to Karachi. Meanwhile, a Multan-to-Karachi PIA flight was delayed and forced to take an alternative route, with its revised landing scheduled for 4:15 PM in Lahore.

A NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the CAA confirmed that Lahore and Sialkot air corridors have been closed to commercial flights until at least 12:00 PM today. The resumption of normal flight operations will depend on final government approval.

So far, more than 18 flights have been affected by the nationwide suspension, with additional delays and cancellations expected if the situation persists.

Authorities have urged passengers to remain in contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates and rescheduling information.
