Additional Applications to Be Accepted for Government Hajj Scheme, Says Secretary of Religious Affairs

The Secretary of Religious Affairs has announced that additional applications will soon be accepted for the Government Hajj Scheme, which currently has a quota of 5,000 individuals. The decision was shared during a briefing to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Religious Affairs.

A meeting was held in the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ committee room, chaired by Malik Amir Dogar, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Religious Affairs, with committee members and ministry officials in attendance.

During the session, Malik Amir Dogar acknowledged the improvements made in Hajj arrangements each year. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Choudhry Salik Hussain, expressed gratitude for the progress and assured that further improvements would be implemented under the committee’s guidance.

Chairman Dogar emphasized that private Hajj companies play a crucial role in assisting the ministry and encouraged the ministry to continue supporting and supervising them.

Secretary of Religious Affairs, while providing a briefing, stated that efforts are underway to reduce Hajj expenses below the 11 lakh mark. He confirmed that there is a quota for 5,000 people under the Government Hajj Scheme, and additional applications will be accepted in the coming days.

The ministry also announced that each mattress in Mina will be assigned a specific number for pilgrims. Additionally, the ministry revealed that 764 complaints were received last year regarding 218 private companies involved in Hajj services.
