Lahore: Action has been initiated against those responsible for editing and circulating images of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on social media. The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing, on the government’s request, has begun an inquiry into the matter.
The edited photos in question involve Maryam Nawaz with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which have been altered and widely shared online. The FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing will investigate those involved in uploading such content across various videos and images. Inquiries will be conducted by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing in Lahore and other parts of the country.
It is worth noting that Maryam Nawaz’s special assistant shared an image of her with the UAE President on his X account on January 5, which also showed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. However, some social media users edited the image inappropriately before it went viral.
Meanwhile, during a speech at an event today, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz remarked, “Mouth and hoof disease affects not only animals but also humans. We will treat the diseases of not just animals, but also those of several political parties.”
She further stated, “The economy, which was once faltering, is now beginning to stabilize. The Pakistan Stock Market has broken a 76-year record, and under the Shehbaz government, good news is beginning to emerge. The people are starting to see the benefits of the Punjab government’s initiatives. Whatever can be done, we will do for the people of Punjab.”
