A shocking twist has emerged in the murder case of PTI leader Dr. Shahid Siddique in Lahore, as his own son, Qayyum Shahid, has been detained by the Organized Crime Unit (OCU) in Iqbal Town on suspicion of facilitating the crime. According to police sources, Qayyum was detained due to concrete evidence linking him to the murder of his father.
Dr. Shahid Siddique, a prominent private hospital owner and local leader of the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was tragically killed outside a mosque in Valencia Town, Lahore, shortly after Friday prayers. The incident occurred when an unidentified assailant fired four shots at Dr. Siddique.
The case was registered by Dr. Shahid’s second son, Taimur, who alleged that Qayyum and their uncle, Sajid, were present at the scene of the crime. The FIR states that Qayyum was standing in front of their car when the shooter opened fire on Dr. Shahid.
The motive behind the attack is still under investigation, with authorities exploring various aspects, including the possibility of a targeted killing. Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Usman Anwar, has ordered immediate action to apprehend the perpetrator(s), directing all available resources towards swiftly resolving the case.
