The Punjab Home Department has directed the Inspector General of Prisons to organize Christmas celebrations for Christian prisoners. Special Christmas prayer ceremonies will be held in all prisons for Christian inmates, and cakes will be cut in prisons across Punjab to mark the occasion.
According to the spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department, special arrangements will be made for Christian prisoners to meet their families during Christmas. All Christian prisoners will also be allowed to have home-cooked meals on Christmas, and special meals will be provided by the prison authorities as well.
The spokesperson further stated that the Secretary of the Home Department has instructed the prison superintendents to honor the religious sentiments of the prisoners by presenting them with gifts and to strictly implement these orders in all prisons.
