Lahore: The Chief Minister of Punjab has officially inaugurated the ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic,’ marking a significant step in the province’s healthcare system reform.

In her speech during the inauguration, Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized that the entire team behind the clinic’s launch deserved congratulations. “We believe in serving the people, and every day as Chief Minister comes with its own set of challenges,” she said. “Just before this, I came from a three to four-hour meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee.”

Maryam Nawaz further highlighted the importance of addressing the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas, noting the growing threat of infiltration from these regions. “This is the only challenge that sometimes keeps me awake at night,” she admitted. “However, people must have access to quality healthcare services.”

She also announced plans to convert 150 Basic Health Units (BHUs) into ‘Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics,’ improving healthcare facilities across the province. “During Shahbaz Sharif’s tenure, patients received free medicines, but now the quantity of these free medicines has been reduced to 30 percent. It was announced shamelessly that no free medicines would be provided anymore,” she stated, criticizing the reduction in healthcare provisions for the public.
