Lahore (News Desk): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed confidence that the sun of Kashmir’s freedom will soon rise brightly. In her message on the occasion of Right to Self-Determination Day, Maryam Nawaz paid tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir and stated that this day is a salute to the oppressed Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom.
She recalled that on January 5, 1949, the United Nations recognized Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, and despite facing decades of Indian oppression and brutality, Kashmiri brothers and sisters continue to stand firm in their struggle. Maryam emphasized that Pakistan will continue to fully support Kashmir’s right to self-determination, and the Pakistani government is highlighting the Kashmir cause on relevant international platforms.
Maryam Nawaz called on the international community to play an active role in ensuring that the Kashmiri people receive their rightful due. She further stated that “Kashmir without Pakistan is incomplete,” adding that the struggle of the Kashmiri people is also Pakistan’s struggle. She concluded by expressing optimism that the day is not far when the sun of Kashmir’s freedom will shine in full splendor.
