Saudi Arabia Arrests 19,541 Illegal Migrants in One Week

Riyadh (Web Desk): Saudi Arabia’s Joint Committee for Combating Illegal Migration reported the arrest of 19,541 illegal migrants last week. According to the Saudi Press Agency, of the total arrests, 11,402 individuals were apprehended for violating residency laws, 4,775 for breaching border regulations, and 3,364 for violating labor laws.

Additionally, 953 individuals were arrested while attempting to illegally cross into the country, with 40% of them being Yemeni nationals, 58% Ethiopian, and 2% from other countries.

The committee also announced the arrest of 27 individuals for facilitating illegal migration. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior emphasized that providing any form of assistance to illegal migrants is a serious crime, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million riyals.
