Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government, claiming that it has lost its grip on the province. She condemned the attack on Kurram Deputy Commissioner despite a peace agreement in place, calling the incident deeply regrettable.
In a statement, Uzma Bukhari said, “Certain forces do not want peace to prevail in Kurram. The provincial government seems more focused on Adiala Jail’s prisoners than on its responsibilities in KP.”
She further criticized PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur, stating, “In two months, he hasn’t visited Kurram even once. Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz, sitting in Punjab, is concerned about her brothers and sisters in Parachinar.”
Bukhari highlighted that the PTI has been in power in KP for 12 years, during which the quality of life in the province has deteriorated. “KP faces critical issues such as law and order, terrorism, and unemployment. PTI has given the Pashtun community nothing but a sense of deprivation,” she added.
The minister reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to taking strict action against those disrupting peace in Kurram and emphasized the need for immediate attention to the pressing issues in KP.
