In a significant military operation, Israeli commandos have reportedly destroyed an underground missile unit in Syria, allegedly operated by Iran to manufacture missiles for Hezbollah with the approval of the Bashar al-Assad regime.
According to international news agencies, a team of 120 Israeli commandos carried out the raid, targeting the underground facility. The operation, which lasted two and a half hours, resulted in the complete dismantling and deactivation of the missile unit.
This operation, described as one of Israel’s largest, was conducted on September 8 while the Assad government was still in power. However, details, images, and videos of the mission have only recently been disclosed.
Israel has conducted numerous strikes against military units and installations in Syria since the onset of the country’s civil war. This latest raid underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and Israel’s efforts to counter perceived threats from Iranian and Hezbollah-aligned forces.
