Islamabad (News Desk) – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s steadfast commitment to supporting the government’s economic stabilization efforts. The 11th meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SFIC) Apex Committee also issued its declaration following the session.
The meeting, chaired by the Prime Minister, reviewed various initiatives under the SFIC. It was attended by the Army Chief, federal cabinet members, provincial chief ministers, the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, and senior government officials.
The Secretary of the Apex Committee briefed the session on the strategic focus, initiatives, and contributions of SFIC in relation to the national economic plan “Udaan Pakistan (2024-2029).”
The committee expressed satisfaction over the improving macroeconomic conditions and emphasized the importance of collective efforts to ensure sustainable economic growth and make the benefits of economic improvements accessible to the public.
The committee also approved an action plan for the reform of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to revitalize Pakistan’s industrial landscape. Additionally, the proposed National Minerals Harmonization Framework, developed through consultations with all stakeholders, was reviewed.
A briefing was provided on Human Resource Development (HRD) initiatives aimed at aligning workforce skills with global standards. The Chief Ministers presented updates on ongoing provincial initiatives aimed at promoting economic growth.
General Asim Munir assured the government of the Pakistan Army’s unwavering support for the government’s measures to achieve economic stability, which will also contribute to improving law and order and security.
The Prime Minister praised the role of SFIC, ministries, departments, and relevant stakeholders in devising strategies for future activities in 2025. He also emphasized the importance of collective efforts at all levels for the broader national interest.
