Peace Agreement Expected in Kurram After Grand Jirga

Dera Ismail Khan: A strong possibility of a peace agreement between opposing parties in Kurram is expected to be finalized today during a Grand Jirga focused on law and order.

According to government sources, one party has already signed the peace agreement. The deal aims to demilitarize the area by removing weapons and dismantling bunkers. Additionally, the agreement stipulates that the government will take action against any terrorist activities in the region.

Meanwhile, Provincial Information Advisor Barrister Saif stated that the provincial government is committed to finding a sustainable and long-term solution to the Parachinar-Kurram conflict. He added that, thanks to the efforts of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the century-old dispute is nearing a permanent resolution. Following the decisions of the Apex Committee, the region will be cleared of weapons.

Local sources report that protests are still ongoing in Kurram, with roads remaining closed. The ongoing protests and road closures have caused significant difficulties for residents.
