Islamabad (News Desk): Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, has called on the Pakistani government to officially recognize Hamas and open its office in Islamabad, emphasizing that Hamas is not a terrorist organization, but rather a group fighting for its rights. Rehman made these statements during the Gaza Million March in Islamabad, where he expressed his concerns over the ongoing atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and the West Bank, with the support of the United States.

He criticized the international community, particularly the Muslim world, for remaining silent on the genocide being committed by Israel against Palestinians. Rehman described Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as a terrorist and accused him of conducting open terrorism in Palestine with U.S. support. He stated that Hamas is fighting for the rights of Palestinians, and the Pakistani people have always stood in solidarity with them, especially during their suffering.

Rehman urged the government to take a strong stance against Israel by recognizing Hamas, opening a Hamas office in Islamabad, and providing education to Palestinian children. He also called for a diplomatic effort to isolate Israel, including a boycott of Israeli products. He stressed that Pakistan’s development could not be achieved until the country frees itself from U.S. influence.

During the rally, several prominent figures of Jamaat-e-Islami, including deputy Amir of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Dr. Ata ur Rehman, Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Abdul Wasi, and others, also attended the event. Rehman highlighted the dire conditions in Gaza, where over 2 million people are living in refugee camps amid severe cold, with 46,000 people, mostly women and children, having been martyred.

He condemned the silence of the Muslim world on the issue and questioned why countries with strong military capabilities have not taken action to protect Palestinians. Rehman also criticized the double standards of the U.S., referring to its history of violence against indigenous people and the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as its false claims regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He declared that Hamas is fulfilling a vital duty for the Muslim Ummah and called on Muslim nations to stand firm against the oppression of Israel.
