Islamabad: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has announced plans to appeal the convictions of 60 more individuals sentenced by military courts in connection with the May 9 incidents.
Speaking on the matter, Barrister Gohar reiterated PTI’s demand for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26. He also urged the Supreme Court to expedite its decision on cases concerning military trials.
“We will file appeals against these sentences, both collectively and on an individual basis,” Barrister Gohar stated.
Earlier today, military courts handed down sentences to 60 individuals linked to the May 9 incidents, including a 10-year rigorous imprisonment for Hassan Niazi.
These developments have once again sparked calls for transparency and judicial oversight in cases being tried under military jurisdiction.
