Christian Community Celebrates Christmas Across Pakistan

The Christian community in Pakistan, like the rest of the world, is celebrating Christmas today.A special prayer service was held at the St. Patrick’s Church in Karachi, where a large number of people from the Christian community gathered to mark the occasion.

In Hyderabad, a prayer service was organized at the St. Francis Church late last night, followed by the distribution of sweets.Participants, including Christian women, children, and youth, offered prayers for the prosperity and safety of the nation.

In Faisalabad, Christian women engaged in Christmas shopping, while in Gujranwala’s Christmas market, the Christian community enjoyed discounts of up to 20%.Worldwide, Christmas celebrations began with special church services and prayers. In Quetta, bakeries and cake shops showcased specially designed Christmas cakes. The Christian community in Lahore was also excited to celebrate the holiday.

In Sargodha, churches held prayer services, while in Sukkur, cakes were cut to mark the joy of Christmas.Across the country, churches and homes in Peshawar were beautifully decorated for Christmas, with many Christian households adorning their homes with Christmas trees.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their warm wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world.

In his message, President Zardari highlighted that Christmas encourages love, generosity, compassion, unity, and hope. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of reflecting on the messages of peace, brotherhood, and love during Christmas, reaffirming the Pakistani government’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all religious communities.
