Ahmedabad, Gujarat: In a shocking incident, a man in Ahmedabad sent a parcel containing a bomb to his in-laws’ house in an attempt to kill them, blaming them for his separation from his wife.

According to Indian media reports, the parcel exploded upon delivery, injuring two people. Police have arrested two suspects, including the accused, 44-year-old Rupan Rao, who reportedly learned bomb-making techniques online to seek revenge against his wife’s friend Baldev Sukhadiya, father-in-law, and brother-in-law.

Rupan Rao alleged that these individuals were responsible for the breakdown of his marriage. The divorce case between him and his wife is still pending in court.

The explosion occurred on Saturday morning around 10:45 AM in the Sabarmati area. Deputy Commissioner of Police Bharat Rathod stated that one suspect, Guru Gadhavi, was arrested shortly after the incident, followed by the detention of Rupan Rao and another accomplice through technical surveillance.

Police recovered two remote-controlled bombs made using sulfur powder, gunpowder, and an electronic circuit, along with a homemade pistol. A 21-year-old associate of Rao, identified as Rawal, was also arrested later that night.

According to investigators, Rao believed that Baldev Sukhadiya had caused a rift between him and his wife, distancing him from his children. Rao further claimed his wife, father-in-law, and brother-in-law had contributed to his physical and emotional distress.

The suspect reportedly spent three to four months learning how to make explosives and weapons using online resources, highlighting a dangerous trend of individuals accessing such information on the internet.
