Islamabad – Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, emphasized that a parliamentary democratic system cannot function without political dialogue.

Speaking to the media after the conclusion of the first round of talks between the government and the opposition, Rana Sanaullah stated that both sides sat down with an open heart. He explained that each party should express their views, while they would also present their stance. He added that a political dialogue is the only way to find a middle ground.

He further remarked that both parties should listen to each other and then find a solution, stressing that it is not feasible for one side to fully accept the other’s position. “If the PTI called us thieves, we too had our own criticisms,” he said, underscoring that parliamentary democracy cannot advance without dialogue.

Rana Sanaullah reiterated that even when political revenge was being sought against them, they had proposed a Charter of Economy, and their stance remains that political dialogue is the path forward.

Political Dialogue in National Interest: Raja Pervez Ashraf

He welcomed the commencement of talks and mentioned that the opposition was asked to present their Charter of Demands in writing to the committee.

Raja Pervez Ashraf also expressed concern over the use of social media against Pakistan, calling it unfortunate. He urged that propaganda against institutions and the country must be stopped.
