Peshawar: The Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to dismantle all bunkers and seize heavy weaponry in Kurram to ensure lasting peace in the region.

A crucial meeting of the committee, chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, was held to review the situation in Kurram. The meeting was attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Corps Commander Peshawar, KP Chief Secretary, Inspector General of Police, and other cabinet members.

During the meeting, participants were briefed on the provincial government’s efforts to restore peace in Kurram and updated on the progress of the Grand Jirga’s deliberations. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured the Chief Minister of full support in maintaining peace, emphasizing that Kurram’s stability remains a top priority. He also pledged to enhance the capacity of law enforcement agencies in the province.

The Apex Committee resolved to dismantle all bunkers in Kurram and discussed efforts to disarm residents to prevent future incidents of violence.

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The two leaders discussed the overall law and order situation in the province and strategies to ensure peace in Kurram. The Interior Minister reiterated the federal government’s commitment to assisting the province in strengthening its law enforcement agencies and addressing security challenges.
