OGRA Approves Increase in Gas Prices, Introduces Fuel Price Adjustment in Bills

Islamabad – The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved an increase in gas prices for the current fiscal year.

According to the official statement released by OGRA, gas prices for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) have been increased by 8.71%, while prices for Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) have seen a 25.78% hike.

The average gas price for the Sui Northern system has been set at Rs. 1,778.35 per MMBTU, while for the Sui Southern system, the price is now Rs. 1,762.51 per MMBTU.

The statement further clarified that the decision has been forwarded to the federal government for approval, which will finalize the implementation of the new gas prices.

This move also includes the introduction of Fuel Price Adjustment in gas bills, a decision aimed at addressing fluctuations in energy costs.
