Islamabad : The Syrian Embassy in Islamabad has raised a new flag following the end of Bashar al-Assad’s regime. The new flag signifies a shift in loyalty towards the new administration in Syria, marking a symbolic new chapter in the country’s political landscape.

According to media reports, the flag raised at the embassy represents the mission’s alignment with the changing power dynamics in Syria, reflecting the recent political upheavals. The new flag features green to symbolize hope and freedom, white to represent peace and a bright future, and black to depict the suffering endured by the Syrian people. Three red stars on the flag symbolize the ideals of the Syrian revolution.

This new design contrasts with the previous flag, which featured two green stars representing the union between Syria and Egypt under the United Arab Republic. Similar displays of the new flag have been seen in cities such as Berlin, Istanbul, and Athens, where crowds showed their support for the vision of the Syrian opposition.

The flag change at the Syrian Embassy in Islamabad serves as a clear indication of the country’s evolving political identity. Meanwhile, sources from Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed that diplomatic contacts between Islamabad and Damascus have been restored and are functioning as usual. Reports from Damascus indicate that conditions are rapidly returning to normal, especially in the capital.
