Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Concludes Successful Visit to China, Departs for Pakistan

Beijing: Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has concluded her eight-day official visit to China and departed for Pakistan. She was given a warm send-off at the airport by Miss Helen, Director of Foreign Affairs, and other senior Chinese officials.

Invited by the Communist Party of China (CPC), Maryam Nawaz was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Senator Pervez Rashid, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Uzma Bukhari, Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan, and Agriculture Minister Ashiq Kermani.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz toured several key institutions in Beijing, including AI Force Tech (a robotics and agricultural machinery company), Blue Tech Air Alliance, Hi Jia Medical, Shi Ji Tan Hospital, and the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport. She also met with senior officials of the CPC and attended a luncheon held in her honor.

A pivotal moment of the visit was her meeting with China’s Minister of Environment, where she delivered a keynote address at a conference on environmental pollution.

In Shanghai, the Chief Minister visited the Communist Party of China Museum, Jinko Solar Company, an experimental school, Huawei Technologies, BGI Genomics, and the Minhang District Industrial Zone.

Maryam Nawaz held high-level discussions with Chinese officials and addressed the Punjab-China Investment Conference, resulting in the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). These agreements focused on environmentally friendly transportation, agriculture, healthcare, and other sectors, promising to enhance economic and trade collaboration between Punjab and China.

The visit is expected to strengthen ties and pave the way for significant investments, bolstering Punjab’s economic development and fostering bilateral cooperation.
