Islamabad:Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) has sought assistance from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for legislation on the Madrassa Registration Bill under the context of the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This request followed a meeting between PTI leader Asad Qaiser and JUI-F Senator Kamran Murtaza, where they discussed the political situation and the issues arising from the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill. The meeting also addressed potential bilateral political cooperation.

During the meeting, Asad Qaiser asked Kamran Murtaza to clarify how PTI could assist JUI-F regarding madrassa-related matters. Kamran Murtaza responded by suggesting that PTI should first resolve internally whether they are willing to collaborate with JUI-F, pointing out the conflicting statements from PTI leaders regarding madrassas.

Murtaza further emphasized that if PTI intends to help, they should push for similar legislation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, in line with the Societies Registration (Amendment) Bill. He noted that the scope of the bill passed by the federal government would be limited to Islamabad only. Additionally, JUI-F plans to engage with provincial governments and political leadership in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan to push for similar legislative actions.
