Damascus:The wave of Israeli aggression in the Middle East continues, with more than 60 strikes carried out on Syrian territory within just a few hours, according to reports.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israel launched 61 missiles at Syrian military targets within a span of less than five hours on Saturday evening.
This escalation comes amid heightened tensions following the recent ousting of President Bashar al-Assad’s government by rebel forces, marking a significant shift in Syria’s political landscape.
Qatar-based news outlet Al Jazeera quoted Syrian leader Ahmad Al-Sharaa condemning Israel’s strikes and territorial violations, calling them an unacceptable act of aggression. In his statement, Al-Sharaa emphasized that Syria is exhausted from ongoing conflicts and cannot afford another crisis.
The strikes have drawn widespread criticism, with observers warning of the potential for further instability in an already war-torn region.
