Prime Minister Sends Advice to Convene Joint Session of Parliament

Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sent an advice to the President of Pakistan to convene a joint session of Parliament. According to parliamentary sources, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs had sent a summary to the Prime Minister recommending the joint session. The Prime Minister has advised that the session be held on December 17 at 11:00 AM.

The joint session is expected to approve eight bills, including one concerning the registration of religious seminaries. The government is currently in consultation with the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) regarding the new bill on the registration of religious seminaries.
