Islamabad: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has dismissed its Director General, Zulfiqar Ahmed, after an investigation confirmed his degrees were fraudulent.

According to sources, Zulfiqar Ahmed’s MBA degree bore the signature of a person who was not serving as the president of George Mason University at the time, while the BBA degree listed a college name that had changed before the degree was issued.

The investigation was conducted by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) at NADRA’s request, validating the authority’s findings regarding the degrees’ authenticity.

Sources further revealed that Zulfiqar Ahmed failed to provide a satisfactory explanation in response to a show-cause notice issued by NADRA. Following a High Court decision and an unsatisfactory response to the notice, NADRA’s chairman initiated disciplinary action, resulting in Ahmed’s termination from employment.
