The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced stricter monitoring measures for transit trade goods, in line with the conditions set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The government has mandated the use of advanced tracking and monitoring technology by licensed companies engaged in transit trade.

Licensed companies transporting transit trade goods will now be required to install modern tracking and monitoring devices. Companies failing to comply with this directive will face legal action.

Additionally, FBR has decided to conduct audits of the advanced devices and equipment installed on containers transporting transit trade goods through the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). These reforms are part of ongoing efforts to improve the efficiency and transparency of the tax system.
