318 Pakistanis stranded in Syria have returned to Pakistan via a chartered flight.

The chartered plane landed at Islamabad International Airport, where the Minister for Planning, Ahsan Iqbal, welcomed the returning citizens.

Speaking to the media at the airport, Ahsan Iqbal congratulated the Pakistani nationals on their safe return to the country. He also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Lebanon for facilitating their evacuation.

The stranded Pakistanis were transported from Syria to Lebanon by road before being flown to Pakistan on a special flight from Beirut.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had reached out to the Lebanese Prime Minister, requesting assistance in evacuating the stranded Pakistanis. In response, Lebanon issued visas to the Pakistani nationals.

At Beirut Airport, the Pakistani ambassador bid farewell to the citizens before their departure to Pakistan.
