Islamabad: Senator Faisal Vawda stated that former ISI chief Lt. Gen. (R) Faiz Hameed has provided evidence and testimony, making it impossible for PTI founder Imran Khan to evade accountability.
Speaking on the decision by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) to proceed with the field general court-martial of Faiz Hameed, Vawda emphasized that the powerful are being held accountable just like ordinary citizens. “This sets a strong precedent and will lead to a more stable Pakistan, though it adds to Imran Khan’s challenges,” he said.
PTI’s Alleged Role in Instability
Vawda accused PTI of steering the country toward destruction, revealing plans for a civil disobedience movement on December 14. “Their balloon has been deflated,” he remarked, adding that the May 9 incidents were part of a deliberate conspiracy.
He further stated, “If Faiz Hameed is being charged, how can Imran Khan and others escape accountability? This is a moment of reckoning for those involved.”
Implications for Key PTI Figures
Vawda claimed that key PTI figures, including Bushra Bibi, Murad Saeed, Hammad Azhar, and other associates, would also face justice. “Nobody should think they’ll be spared. Evidence against them is mounting, and their evasion will not last,” he warned.
Broader Message
The senator underscored that the ongoing accountability sends a powerful message that no one—politician, military official, or ordinary citizen—can undermine Pakistan. “This will set an example. The days of playing games with Pakistan’s institutions and stability are over,” he said.
Call for National Stability
Vawda concluded by urging a dialogue-based resolution to national issues, while dismissing the possibility of forgiveness for those who have committed grave offenses. He also called on PTI’s sincere members to rise above destructive politics and work for the country’s future. “The world will witness the consequences of playing with Pakistan’s stability,” he asserted.
