Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has held a meeting with Liu Jianchao, the Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on the second day of her official visit to China.
During her visit to Beijing, the two leaders discussed the ongoing strengthening of bilateral relations and areas for further cooperation.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Information Azma Bokhari, Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, and Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed her gratitude to Minister Liu Jianchao for the warm welcome extended to her and commended the visionary leadership of the Communist Party of China.
She noted that China’s leadership had played a significant role in transforming the country into a global power and emphasized the key role of the Communist Party of China in advancing Pakistan-China relations.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the growing people-to-people connections between Pakistan and China, stressing that these ties were critical in building a stronger community between the two nations.
She reiterated that the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China was steadfast, unaffected by regional and global political changes.
Maryam Nawaz further emphasized that Pakistan and China’s strategic partnership was robust and would transcend all challenges, including political shifts.
She expressed a desire to learn from China’s experiences in local governance and rural development, particularly in the context of enhancing youth empowerment and skills development.
In a separate statement, she noted the importance of vocational training programs and pledged to seek China’s cooperation in these areas to help improve skill-building initiatives in Punjab.
