Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi has taken a significant step to ensure the swift delivery of justice by deciding to visit remote districts across the country. According to a statement issued by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, the initiative aims to enhance district judiciary performance and address challenges faced by local courts. The Chief Justice intends to personally oversee and resolve issues on-site.
As part of this initiative, CJP Yahya Afridi visited Gwadar today, where a meeting was held with the Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court and Justice Abdullah Baloch, the Monitoring Judge for Prisons. District and Sessions Judges from Turbat, Panjgur, and other areas briefed the Chief Justice on pressing issues, and he assured them of prompt solutions.
CJP Afridi emphasized the importance of upholding the dignity of judicial officers, reiterating his commitment to preserving the judiciary’s integrity nationwide. He praised the efforts of judicial officers working in remote areas and directed the High Courts to focus on strengthening district courts in underprivileged regions, which require special attention.
The meeting also addressed key reforms, leading to the approval of a sub-committee dedicated to Balochistan. This committee will visit various prisons and propose a comprehensive reform package to improve the justice system in the province.
