Beijing: Pakistan’s first female Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has stated that the Pakistan-China friendship has reached new heights and expressed her desire to collaborate with China to steer Punjab toward economic and developmental progress.
During her eight-day visit to China, Maryam Nawaz met with a high-level delegation of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Beijing. The head of the Chinese delegation warmly welcomed the Chief Minister and her team, expressing gratitude for their visit.
Upon her arrival at Beijing Airport, Maryam Nawaz and her delegation received a grand reception, including a floral welcome. Six senior CPC officials were present at the airport, including Deputy Director-General Lin Tao, South Asian Affairs Counselor Mrs. Li Jin Yuan, Deputy Director of the Southeast Bureau Chen Zhanbo, South Asian Affairs Attaché Sheng Guiyu, and officials Mrs. Chen Yu Bo and Ms. Zhou Chen Yu.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, along with his wife and other embassy officials, also welcomed the Chief Minister and her delegation at the airport.
Accompanying Maryam Nawaz on this visit are Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Uzma Zahid Bukhari, and other key officials, including Bilal Akbar and Ashiq Kirmani.
The Chief Minister’s official engagements will commence tomorrow, including visits to Chinese hospitals, schools, and various institutions.
