Islamabad – Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that failure to hold accountability for the rebellions on May 9 and November 24 could pose significant risks for the future.

In an interview, Khawaja Asif stated that PTI staged rebellions against the state on May 9 and November 26. He emphasized that without accountability, it would set a dangerous precedent. He further commented that the situation on May 9 could have been resolved quickly had it not been for the judiciary’s support, noting that the judiciary at the time had become a partisan entity.

Khawaja Asif also responded to PTI’s previous demand for investigations, stating that the government already possesses all the necessary evidence, making further investigations unnecessary. He added that PTI seeks the same judicial support they received after May 9.

Regarding Imran Khan’s statement on halting remittances from Pakistanis abroad, Khawaja Asif pointed out that 6.5 million Pakistanis reside in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and they will continue to prioritize loyalty to their country. He further stated that if Ali Amin Gandapur arrived in Islamabad with weapons, it was not for a political rally or a wedding, and overseas Pakistanis will not stop sending their remittances.
