Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated that the government and Pakistan’s armed forces are determined to eliminate terrorism, highlighting that Pakistan has paid a heavy price due to this menace.
Addressing participants of the 7th Maritime Security Workshop, the Prime Minister commended the Pakistan Navy for safeguarding the country’s maritime boundaries with courage and professionalism. He emphasized that the Navy is fully equipped to handle all challenges and underscored the growing importance of the blue economy in the modern era.

We are committed to its complete elimination.” He lauded the sacrifices of officers and soldiers ensuring a secure future for the nation, adding that Pakistan has lost 80,000 lives and suffered an economic loss of $3 billion in the fight against terrorism.
Addressing a meeting with the Chairman of Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that KPT’s focus should remain on port development rather than construction projects. He stressed the need for modernizing Karachi Port with advanced technology to enhance the speed and efficiency of cargo handling.
