The Free Solar Panel Scheme for 100,000 consumers in Punjab

Lahore: The CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme has been launched for 100,000 consumers in the province.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz officially inaugurated the scheme, allowing consumers in Punjab to apply for it today via SMS or through the online portal from the comfort of their homes.

During a briefing, the Provincial Secretary of Energy shared that under the scheme, 100,000 solar systems will be installed over the course of the year. Consumers using up to 200 units of electricity per month will receive a free solar system. Specifically, 52,019 consumers who use up to 100 units monthly will be provided with a 550-watt solar system, while those consuming up to 200 units will get a 1,100-watt solar system.

To ensure transparency, a computerized lottery will be held to select the beneficiaries of the CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme.

Maryam Nawaz stated that the objective of the free solar panel initiative is to provide lasting relief to the public from high electricity bills. With a subsidy of 14 rupees per unit, the scheme has benefited 7.3 million consumers in Punjab. She emphasized that public funds will be used for the convenience and relief of the people.
