Punjab Launches Free Insulin Delivery Program for Children with Type 1 Diabetes

In a historic move, the Punjab government has launched a free insulin delivery program for children with Type 1 diabetes, marking the first initiative of its kind in Pakistan. Under the directive of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, insulin will be delivered directly to the homes of registered diabetic children across the province.

The Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Insulin Program has officially begun registration for eligible children, providing families with the convenience of enrolling from home. A dedicated helpline, 1033, has been established to assist with inquiries and facilitate the registration process. Parents can also visit NCD (Non-Communicable Disease) clinics in their respective districts or tehsils for further support.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “Children are like delicate flowers, and we will not let them wither. As a mother, I deeply understand their pain and suffering. This program will eliminate the hassle of hospital visits by ensuring that insulin reaches their homes.”

Children with Type 1 diabetes require lifelong insulin therapy. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial and logistical burden on families, ensuring that comprehensive healthcare resources are available for diabetic children across Punjab.
