The President of the Awami National Party (ANP), Aimal Wali, has publicly supported the imposition of a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking at a press conference in Charsadda alongside Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, Aimal Wali said, “We support the ban on PTI as it exhibits undemocratic behavior.”
He pointed to the incidents of May 9 and November 24 as valid reasons for such a ban.
However, Aimal Wali opposed the idea of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stating, “Governor’s Rule is not the solution; it will only serve to satisfy egos and stubbornness.”
Related Developments:
- A resolution for banning PTI has been submitted to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat.
- The Balochistan Assembly has already passed a resolution supporting the ban.
- Reports suggest that a majority of the federal cabinet is in favor of imposing Governor’s Rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Aimal Wali emphasized that the final decision on Governor’s Rule will be made by the Prime Minister after consulting relevant stakeholders.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Remarks
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, while addressing the press conference, highlighted the deteriorating security situation in the province.
“The province is on fire, yet the provincial government is busy igniting chaos in Islamabad,” he said.
He criticized the provincial government for focusing on freeing the PTI founder rather than addressing the province’s issues.
“During the protests, no PTI leader has been arrested, and there has been no significant movement from Punjab,” he added.
All Parties Conference Announcement
Governor Kundi announced that an All Parties Conference (APC) will be held on December 5 to address the worsening law and order situation.
“We will also engage with the federal government on the province’s security situation, and implementing the National Action Plan is essential for restoring peace,” he stated.
