Islamabad: A possible increase in petrol and diesel prices is expected from December 1, 2024, based on slight fluctuations in international oil prices over the past 12 days of the current pricing cycle.

According to industry sources, petrol prices may rise by Rs. 3 per litre, while diesel prices could increase by Rs. 2.87 per litre. This adjustment would push the current petrol price from Rs. 248.38 per litre to Rs. 251.38 per litre.

However, officials are optimistic that the recent ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah may lead to a reduction in global oil prices in the coming days, potentially keeping domestic fuel prices unchanged.

On the international front, Brent crude futures edged up by 2 cents to settle at $72.83 per barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped 5 cents to $68.72 per barrel.

Final pricing decisions will depend on further fluctuations in the global market and government considerations.
