The Tourism Department of Punjab is set to launch new, modern double-decker buses on September 27, coinciding with World Tourism Day. This initiative aims to boost tourism in the province and provide a comfortable and scenic travel experience for visitors.

Initially scheduled to start on August 14, the launch was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. The buses, provided by the World Bank, are fully air-conditioned and will operate on various routes, showcasing the province’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

In addition to the double-decker buses, the Punjab government is also working on an exciting glass train project. The train will run between Rawalpindi and Bhurban in Murree, offering breathtaking views of the scenic areas like Margalla Hills and Barakahu.

A working group consisting of 18 departments has been formed to oversee the project, led by the transport minister of Punjab. The group is tasked with addressing challenges like land acquisition for the train tracks and stations, ensuring the project is completed efficiently with minimal expenses.

The glass train project is part of the Murree Development Plan, aimed at promoting tourism in the region. NESCOM is conducting a feasibility study to evaluate the costs and timeline of the project.

These initiatives demonstrate the Punjab government’s commitment to developing the tourism sector and providing innovative and comfortable travel experiences for visitors.
