Real Madrid took advantage of this miss and secured a point when Vinicius Jr. converted a penalty after Las Palmas defender Álex Suárez was penalized for handball.
The draw sees Real Madrid continue their unbeaten run, but they remain fourth in the standings with five points from three matches, four behind leaders Barcelona. Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain in June, is still searching for his first LaLiga goal.
