The Adiala jail administration has denied reports that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is being deprived of facilities while in custody. The superintendent of Central Jail Rawalpindi stated that all facilities as per the jail manual are available to Khan, with special attention on his security and health.

Khan has been allocated a separate kitchen, exercise machine, and place for walking. He is also supplied with one English newspaper daily and has access to books and a television in his prison cell. The jail official refuted reports of an open sewer in Khan’s cell and rats in his spouse Bushra Bibi’s cell, stating that there is no truth to these claims.

The PTI founder is allowed to meet family, lawyers, and hold political meetings twice a week. He also met with attendees during case hearings. The jail administration’s stance comes after PTI Senator Muhammad Ali Khan Saif claimed that Khan was being deprived of facilities, including an electric toothbrush and dumbbell for exercise, and was not allowed to talk to his sons over the phone.
