The Foreign Office (FO) has stated that there are no talks underway between Pakistan and India regarding the resumption of bilateral trade. FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch cited India’s illegal actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in 2019 as the reason for the suspension of trade.
Pakistan had suspended trade with India after the latter’s unilateral decision to revoke Article 370 of its constitution, annexing IIOJK. The FO spokesperson emphasized that the situation remains unchanged.
The FO also condemned India’s human rights violations in IIOJK, urging the international community to take action. Additionally, the spokesperson addressed border violations by Afghanistan and terrorist hideouts in the country, calling for restraint and effective action.
