According to his legal representative, Umar began feeling heart-related discomfort while present in the courtroom on Tuesday. He was swiftly moved from the courtroom to a vehicle waiting at the main gate and taken to the hospital for a medical examination and tests.

The minister’s condition was reported as stable, with doctors stating he had experienced low blood pressure. His ECG test results were reportedly normal. This is not the first time Umar has faced health issues; he was taken to a hospital in Karachi earlier in June due to back problems.

Umar is facing several charges, including vandalism and the cypher case, related to the May 9 violence. He had stepped down from the post of PTI secretary general around two weeks after the riots on May 9, 2023. He had also resigned from the PTI party and announced his retirement from politics in November last year.

The incident has raised concerns about Umar’s health and well-being, especially given his history of health issues. His supporters and well-wishers have taken to social media to wish him a speedy recovery.
